Packaging Science and Testing Flexural strength and stiffness are important characteristics relating to the top-to-bottom compression strength of corrugated containers. Flexural stiffness measurements of board when used with the edge crush test can accurately predict the top-to-bottom compression strength of a container. This method measures flexural stiffness of corrugated board using a four-point beam fixture. A Chatillon® testing system may be used with a four-point beam fixture to determine flexural strength or corrugated board. Industry standards for determining the flat crush strength for corrugated board is: Need assistance with your application? It's FREE.
