Fastener - Torque Strength of Adhesives

A Chatillon system may be used to determine the elastic/plastic deformation, penetration resistance and the material response to stretching. Energy required for perforation are also calculated.A Chatillon torque gauge may be used to determine the torque required to unscrew a bonded nut and bolt assembly and to evaluate the effectiveness of an adhesive used in threaded fasteners. The gauge will provide measurement of breakaway torque and prevailing torque.

Industry standards for conducting a tensile strength test on adhesive bonds are:
- ASTM D-5649
