Pressure Sensitive Tape - Tensile Strength

A Chatillon system may be used to determine the break strength (tensile strength) and elongation (stretch) properties of pressure-sensitive tape. Using a Chatillon system, a constant rate of travel is used to measure the relative strength of the tape and the stretching characteristics in determination of the tape's suitability to an particular application.

The Chatillon system will determine the tape's tensile strength and ultimate elongation. Tensile strength results are computed in psi. Ultimate elongation is supplied in percent.

Industry standards for determining the tensile strength and ultimate elongation of pressure sensitive tape are:
- ASTM D-3759
