Peel Adhesion - Holding Power of Pressure Sensitive Tape

A Chatillon system may be used to determine the holding power of pressure sensitive tape.

Two methods are commonly used:

• Method A involves applying the tape to a vertical substrate and applying a constant load limit. The elongation is measured over time based on the constant load limit.
  
• Method B involves using a filament, reinforced tape in a horizontal plane. A constant load is applied at a 90-degree angle as elongation is measured .

- ASTM D-3654
