Packaging Science and Testing This test method involves the determination of torque developed when a Type IA child resistant enclosure is rotated in a counter-clockwise direction. A Chatillon® systems may be used to measure the amount of torque developed when the enclosure is rotated without a vertical force being applied. This is often referred to as "reverse ratchet torque". These measurements are valuable since the torque measured represents the torque in the removal direction. For Type IA enclosures, it is essential that this torque be significantly lower than some defined level at which the closure might unscrew. Industry standards for determining the reverse ratchet torque is: Need assistance with your application? It's FREE.
