Child Resistant Enclosure - Disengagement Force

Chatillon^® systems may be used to establish performance standards for Type IIA child resistant packages. The average downward force required to disengage lugs of the cap from the several receptacles on the container is obtained. The test also measures the maximum torque developed while the cap is further disengaged by the turning of the container.

Industry standards for determining downward force to disengage a Type IIA enclosure is:
