Packaging Science and Testing There are three basic test methods used in determining the adhesive ability of pressure sensitive tape: Method A gives a measure of adherence to a standard steel substrate or other type of surface. A strip of tape is applied to the surface using a controlled load. The tape is peeled from the substrate at a specified rate of speed, during which time the load required to effect peeling is measured. Method B gives a measure of adherence using double-back tape. It follows the same general procedure as Method A. Method C gives a measure of adherence on the release liner of single or double-back tape having a release liner. Industry standards for determining peel adherence are: Need assistance with your application? It's FREE.
