Enclosures - Torque Retention on Continuous Thread Closures

The Chatillon torque gauge may be used to perform a static evaluation of the torque retention of continuous thread closures on containers with matching finishes. At predetermined time intervals, the removal torque of a sample is measured.

Using a Chatillon torque gauge, determine the following results relative to torque retention:

• Application torque range and Mean value
• Removal torque range and Mean value

Industry standards for determining torque retention on threaded enclosures are:
- ASTM D-2063
