Adhesive - Peel Resistance

A Chatillon system may be used to determine the elastic/plastic deformation, penetration resistance and the material response to stretching. Energy required for perforation are also calculated.Peel resistance between flexible adherends can be determine using a Chatillon system and a "T-type" specimen. Peel strength is determined, which is the average load per unit width of bond line required to separate progressively a flexible member from a rigid member or another flexible member.

The Chatillon system will determine the average, maximum and minimum peeling load.

Industry standards for conducting a peel resistance test on adhesive bonds are:
- ASTM D-1876
