Adhesive - Creep Strength

A Chatillon system may be used to determine the elastic/plastic deformation, penetration resistance and the material response to stretching. Energy required for perforation are also calculated.Creep testing is used to provide basic data for the choice of safe working stresses for applications in which allowable deformation within the service life is the criterion for failure. Creep is an extremely sensitive index of strength and usually does not vary as a linear function of stress.

The Chatillon system will determine instantaneous strain, deformation, length of time and load.

Industry standards for conducting creep tests on metal-to-metal adhesives are:
- ASTM D-1780
